Basionym: Echinocactus ourselianus Cels v Salm-Dyckově Cactas in Horto Dyckensi Cultas 34, 1850
Taxon popsán nikdy nebyl, již Salm-Dyck jej považoval za synonym Echinocactus multiflorus. Zda rostliny tehdy obdržel nejen pan Palmer v Anglii, nebo i další prominentní sběratel Monville v Paříži, dnes již nezjistíme. Oba posledně zmiňované taxony uvádíme jen pro kompletnost s tím, že jde s největší pravděpodobností o původně importované jedince a následně v prominentních sbírkách křížené.

The taxon has never been described, even Salm-Dyck had held it for the synonym of Echinocactus multiflorus. If only Mr. Parker in England had got the plants at that time or also the other prominent collector Monville in Paris, we can not find today. We have mentioned both taxa only for the completeness with a note, that they had been with the most probability the originally imported specimens and followed crossed in the prominent collections.
